Since upgrading to Tahoe my Time Machine backups are failing.

It seems to be failing when trying to backup my Photo Library which is on an external HD.

Before upgrading to Tahoe it worked flawlessly in Sequoia.

Is anyone else having a similar issue or do you have a solution?

Thanks.

Download and install Time Machine Mechanic and review the logs for errors.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Unfortunately Time Machine Mechanic doesn't report any errors.

UPDATE:
I tried omitting my Photo Library from my Time Machine Backup and it completed successfully.

Not sure why it worked in Sequoia but not in Tahoe 😡

Just started today - Tim Machine will not complete a backup. Backup to: a Seagate 1TB with 200 GB free, connected directly to my Mini. No change / updates in apps or hardware in last 24 hours.

Though not needed to yesterday, I have tried turning off VPN, AV, any malware software and having it not backup Photos in effort to get it to work, but it always finds a new reason it can't do a Backup. Sometimes an arcane file - not always the same one - I know nothing about buried deep with Library. Again - Not a Problem Yesterday.

Time Machine shows up on Desktop and the previous timed files are all there.

In (possibly) unrelated news - I'm getting a whole lot more 'spinning beachballs' - even for just clicking on a folder or to close an app - since 'upgrading' to Tahoe. Currently 26.0.1.

THIS is an improvement on Sequoia?

Disconnect external accessories and boot into Recovery. From Recovery, open Disk Utility and repair internal disk/volumes.

Well, first I tried deleting all the local (on my Mini) Time Machine snapshots - including one that had no info in it, and that didn't work. Then I tried the above and it only confirmed there was issues with the Data folder. Threat of having to rebuild it. If not more. Nope.

Then a "Why Not?" moment, and I opened Time Machine. I considered rolling back to the last Data folder save to Tahoe, but chose the beginning of the month - far enough away from current issues. It installed itself, I rebooted, and once up and running, everything appeared to be there. I launched a backup. Took a bit of time (and maybe a longer than usual 'Cleaning Up') but it completed the backup without a problem. Finally not crashing out only partially done.

Huzzah! Just waiting to see if this also covers the beachball issues, too.
