Let's say I have 1000 pictures stored on my Photos Library and 50 documents on my iCloud Drive folder, both synced to the iCloud servers. But my last Time Machine backup was made yesterday, when I had 990 pictures and 45 documents.

Then, for whatever reason, my SSD crashes and I have to replace it.

What would happen if I recovered my last Time Machine backup? Would I lose those 10 pictures and 5 documents which weren't on the backup? Would iCloud restore them? Would I be better of downloading everything from the iCloud servers instead of recovering the Time Machine backup?

I once restored a VMWare snapshot of a freshly installed Windows and it wiped my OneDrive folder, instead of syncing it with the cloud's contents. I'm not sure about iCloud's behavior in a situation like this.
