I'm not quite sure if this is the right forum for this, but I'm in need of some help.

I was doing a Time Machine backup on a 1TB Seagate external HDD, and my MBP became unresponsive for a few minutes. I tried to shut it off, the shut down, restart, sleep, etc. options popped up. I hit shut down, but it didn't turn off my computer; it just canceled Time Machine. I ejected the HDD the proper way, but now my HDD isn't being recognized by my HDD or my Windows desktop.

Have I ruined my HDD with a simple blunder?
