Hi,
I have a Time machine backup of my MBP and wish to restore to an iMac.
So far so easy. However there is already a different user on the iMac and I can't "destroy" that user by simply restoring my backup over everything else. (It is my understanding that is what would happen if I were to restore to the iMac right?).
I probably could create a second partiton on the iMac and then restore to that one right?
However I would lose the convenienve of being able to switch users fast etc.
Is there any way to restore a TM backup to just a user account with leaving the other user intact (and not to use a second partition for that) or is it just impossible?
Another question...when I have more than one user in my account...does the TM backup store all the users or just the active one from whose account the backup was initiated? Anyone tried this?
Thanks a lot!
John
