Time Machine - question about restoring

The only thing I'm not sure how to do with Tine Machine is restore individual software applications.

Say I choose to delete some software (not necessarily from the app store), but then down the line want put the software back on my mac, how do I restore just that one package with time machine, without affecting/restoring anything else??

Normally drag and drop should suffice.
I assume when you delete applications you just delete the package/folder from the Applications folder? If so, the above will suffice.

I see. So if it's in the applications folder you can simply drag the file back from the time machine drive.

Yes, if you only deleted an application by deleting it from the Applications folder and not used the method laid out in the last link of my signature.
