If you had 3 drives in a Mac Pro, one for OS X, another for all your crap, and the third for time machine backups, would it be possible to backup the first two drives to the 3rd drive using time machine? I'm just not sure if TM will let you backup multiple volumes to one drive.

Yes. TM will back up as many volumes and drives as connected, unless the volumes are excluded.

So TM should automatically back up all drives connected to the MP? Except the TM drive of course.

    Yes.
But check System Preferences > Time Machine > Options to make sure no drive is on the EXCLUDE LIST, unless you want it to.

I just checked and the only one on the list is the drive I am backing up to. I am guessing that TM puts that drive there automatically. Thanks for your help!
