Time Machine restore on new RMBP

    Ok so waiting for my new rmbp.. I have an older MBP 2007. Want to know if anyone has restored there new rmbp from the older time machine... Just curious if anyone has had any restore issues on the new hardware..

    Best bet is not to use time machine and just use the migration assistant it's much quicker and easier.

    And this way it will avoid any headaches with doing a lengthy recovery as well.

    Stupid question but is that an app I have to download or is that something that comes with the new MBP

    I used Migration Assistant from my Time Machine back up to my rMBP, no problems.

    Migration Assistant has been part of OSX for many years... its in Applications/Utilities. When you buy a new Mac it automatically comes up and asks if you want to migrate the first time you use the machine.

    Awesome thanks everyone. I have had my Mac for so many years have only had to migrate once so .....
