Hello,
I have a Macbook Pro. In that MBP I have removed the internal DVD-drive and replaced it with another hard drive. From that system I have a Time Machine backup which I want to restore from.
The issue is that my machine has only two USB-ports. And in order to use the DVD-drive externally, I have to use both ports. Thus making it impossible to have both the DVD drive and TC-backup attached at the same time.
Will I be able to boot up with the Snow Leopard DVD, and then choose Time Machine Backup, disconnect the DVD drive and let it restore from the TC-backup? If not, what can I do to restore my system? I do not want to try anything at the risk of losing data.
