Hello,

I recently got a new hard drive for use with time machine. It has done its initial (long) backup. However, every time I press "backup now" it adds 33 mb of data to the backup even though I haven't changed anything. I can just keep clicking 'backup now' and it will keep adding this amount of data each time - no other programs are running either. Strange. Any ideas? Thanks!

Each time you create a backup, TM creates a new folder on your backup hard drive. You should have a look in it and tell us what files are created.

But for general purpose, your system updates on a regular basis a bunch of files (system ones) so I think this is why something is backed up every time.

There are also system files created for each backup. What are 33 MB anyway.
