Since I got on PB1, Time Machine has not been able to get past "Preparing". I'm using an Airport Time Capsule. Anyone else having this issue?

I tried searching and following steps to resolve this but every How-to says to delete a file called "InProgress" which I don't see at all when I click "Show Package Contents" on my iMac file in TimeCapsule.

Any help on this would be really great...

Same issue on PB2, with NAS Shared Time Machine setup. No biggie as I'm backed up already; this Beta run seems way more problematic than previous - I suspect there's a bit of overtime on going at Apple ATM :)

When did PB2 come out?

Um..it didn't it would seem - I am on 10.15 Beta (19A487m), which I think is developer release 2, but PB1. I got that bit wrong - sorry!

on my MacBook Pro 13" (early 2015), the backup showing "Backing up.......", from time machine preference panel, it showing "Back up: Zero KB", Calculating time remaining.......". It has been over 20 hours now. However, i did see the space available on time machine disk are increasing over the time.

Hmm, I am also having an issue with Time Machine backup - also to an Airport Time Capsule. On Db1, it backed up overnight (said over 100gigs!), but when I looked for latest backup, only the earlier one (from 10.14) shoed as the latest. Last night I tried to do a backup again, but this morning it was still saying "Backed up 108.23 Gigs", so I shut the MacBook Pro down. Fired it back up, and the latest still shows as the last one from version MacOS 10.14.....
Loss like Time Machine is dorked in 10.15 for now..... oh well, the fun of being on betas..... :)

I have the same symptoms (Time Machine always reports "Preparing Backup...") But i just entered Time Machine and was able to restore a file which I had accidentally deleted, from a backup which was shown as being taken an hour ago. It seems that Time Machine is actually working.

How long has it been "stuck"? As so many files have been changed and/or moved, for me the preparing part for the first post-upgrade backup took hours.
