I have just purchased a Western Digital 1TB external H/drive. The drive comes with MAC applications including an "Anywhere backup" app. It seems to have the same functionality as Time Machine except for the ability to revert to a specific backup date (I could be wrong on this as the user info is wanting).

Can anyone advise me on which backup is the better - Time Machine or the WD? I'm quite partial to the Time Machine but am open to new ideas.

I would stick with TM, personally - it's more of a backup utility and not so much an 'included free' tool. Don't get me wrong, I would use WD's resource if I had nothing else but I feel that TM has more to offer. That's just me, though. Plus, you can restore your entire Mac from TM - not so sure about WD's app.
