Time Machine won't launch

Hi,

I'm having a problem where I can't launch Time Machine. It starts to launch, but it gets as far as the screen shot (attached) and then disappears and I go back to the Finder. I don't see anything helpful in the console log.

I should note that I've previously had it working fine. Also, I've just updated to 10.11.1 - that may or may not be the culprit.

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated!

Just to update, in case anyone has a similar issue and stumbles across this post... it seems the problem was related to me having a second monitor attached to my laptop. If I disconnect that then Time Machine works find. Most peculiar!
