I brought a reconditioned time machine from a well know department store. But when I plugged it in it has someone else's server on it. It appears on my desktop as an icon, along with time machine backup icon. I have tried erasing the disk and checked that it does not have a partition. I can't rename the extension as it is greyed out and it will not change from No Access permissions. There are 3 little men on the folder, if that helps. Is there anything I can do, or should I take it back and complain bitterly?!?

Yes, Time Capsule...

Thank you for the advice, all fixed now! I would have never of found that.
