Currently using Time Machine to back up my iMac.
Sounds like the HD is making death rattles, so I'm getting a new one.
Thinking is to get the new one, install it and name it #2 and let it backup the current Time Machine as well as the system. Or maybe just drag the old TM file to the new one?
Should I do this, or just unplug the old HD and install the new one keeping the old one so I can go way back in my files incase I need to find something from way back?
Old HD is 1TB, and the new one will be 2TB so I'll have plenty of room.

It will not assume the old time machine into the new one. So just shut down the old on before it fails and start anew.
