I have my current macbook backing up to time capsule with time machine. If i was to replace my macbook with a macbook air/pro etc would i be able to just install my last backup onto the new computer and carry on? If not are the any other ways of doing something similar?

Cheers for all you help?

yeah - you should be able to do that with Migration Assistant - I believe there is an option to set up from Time Machine

Yes, there is. It's very easy to use. I used it when I upgraded the hard drive on my MacBook.

Help!

Hi guys,

Sorry to threadjack, but just thought I would post here instead of make a new thread about time machine.

So here is my question.

Can time machine restore applications from a back up? I don't have the disks for most of my applications, so I am trying to figure out what is the best way to back up my applications. I was settled on CCC until I got some advice about time machine, but was not able to verify that it would indeed restore my applications on a fresh drive.

If someone could enlighten me that would be great!
