Time slider in Music app

I noticed a little while ago that there no longer is a time slider in the Music app when listening to a given song. At the bottom part of the screen when viewing a particular song there is the play, back and forward buttons and the volume slider but no time slider any more. Why did Apple remove it and can I get it back some how? Will it return in iOS 7 perhaps??

The scrubber bar was not removed. It's now at the top, above the album artwork, and above the buttons for Repeat, Genius, and Shuffle.
