you could also build a cheap gaming rig so you don't have to get rid of all your windows games you like to play. just don't get a $600 video card and build the machine yourself and you'll save a lot of money and still be happy playing the games you love.

Spend the money on the work machines, it's a lot nicer working in X with all the eyecandy, especially when you've been trying to knock out an essay for 8 hours solid.

My PC hasn't had real money spent on it since that GF4 Ti (Yes, a long time ago), and even that was the cheapest going! Any upgrades have to fall into the cash left by the sale of the previous bits

Seriously though, it seems so weird that Apple zealots like Bill hate this thing and Apple haters like Dvorak and Thurott love it. I guess it really speaks to it's audience, but it does turn some of us hardcore guys off. Of course, if you understand that though it isn't for you, it's perfect for it's audience, it makes things a lot easier to grapple with. Or as like a second machine or something. But I'm still shocked the DontHurtMe bought one. Totally not the intended audience.

And here Thatwendigo said it would never happen. I'm sure he'll be back soon. Maybe after the new PowerMacs come out and only cost $999.
