I'm mostly curious with how my D90 will stack up against an Olympus PEN EP-3 (this one - link) I am not considering moving down to a P&S

You're lining yourself up to shoot yourself in the foot, you will end up leaving that at home as much as your D90 as even though it is much less bulky it is still beyond being pocket sized so you will find you will leave it at home more often than not.

I found myself in a similar position to yourself recently but kept the D90 and like many others here added a S95 to my arsenal that goes everywhere my man purse goes and often if the murse gets left at home the S95 is slipped into a pocket, I couldn't be happier with that setup.

I have talked myself into a Fuji X-100, but finding one in stock has been the problem. Amazon has them for about $265.00 over retail:eek:and I just won"t go there. I have put myself on a couple of waiting list for now. I'm still watching for reviews on the Nex-5N and Nex-7 as well.

D-90 to x 100

I just ordered the x 100 on Amazon for $195 over retail. I figured it's about $100 over what I'd pay at a local camera store with CA state tax; figure it's worth it not to wait-seems pretty hard to get one. I'm keeping the D-90 but look forward to shooting a lot more often and in situations where a dslr would be too intrusive.

Why not just wait for nikon's mirrorless cam or buy a smaller body then the d90.
d5000 or something like that.

Seriously though I wouldn't be able to go from a dslr to something like a point and shoot.
Especially if you know what your doing with that 2.8 glass you mention.

If it makes you feel better I dropped about $1200 on a DSLR + stuff at once and I'm no were near pro...lol I just appreciate high quality photography and more significantly for me; cinematography! Don't sell your DSLR! I know someone who just sold their D90 for the same reason but honestly you can't beat a DSLR for pictures! Everyone thinks your being overkill (and maybe your are :D :D) when your taking photo's and they have their iPhone's and tiny point and shoots out but then suddenly something really cool pops up unexpected and suddenly everyone's running to you like some hero like "GET YOUR CAMERA OUT! GET YOUR CAMERA OUT LOOK AT THAT *INSERT SUPER AMAZING AWESOME THING HERE*!!!" or when you go to show them they are just flabbergasted.

Fujifilm X series

For those that have been looking at the Fuji X100, myself included, it forms part of a 'series' now. The just announced X 10 offers a small zoom and a 2/3" sensor. Fuji have a couple of dedicated web sites and online brochures et al. The problem is that I want them both.
KGB:)
Oh, and the little zoom is articulated via a lens twist not a zooming lever. Hmmm, just like a real camera

Thats actually one of the main reasons I have for wanting to sell my set up haha, at every party or event my friends or family have I'm expected to spend the whole night taking pictures then I'm expected to edit and make multiple copies onto CD's for everyone. I'm tired of not being able to enjoy myself at these parties, doesn't help any time someone wants a picture of their child, car, or whatever they go to me.

I know that feeling. I spend more time post-processing the photos than actually taking them as well. But when I look at the photos I take, it's hard to get rid of the set-up.
