Time to switch

I'm extremely happy with the Moto X. For me it's the perfect phone. Near stock Android with a few very good and usable additions. A very nice and solid build that feels great in the hand. A large 4.7" screen in a compact physical package. I'm not a huge camera user so I didn't care that the camera in the Moto X wasn't great but I've heard that some of the shortcomings of the camera can be fixed via a software update. In the Moto X thread here there's a link towards the end that shows a nice improvement in the picture quality.
 
so far happy with the switch

After one day of usage I am quite happy with the Z1 it's actually very pleasant to use.

Some things I noticed that are better than iOS.

With multiple languages, the spell check automatically works. With iOS when I was switching between sms languages, I had to click on the globe icon, and switch keyboards for the dictionary to be activated. In the z1 I can use the qwerty language for both languages.

I like the sony interface I find it quite nice and easy to use. I thought I would hate it but pretty much everything is where it's supposed to be.

I also like the big screen it makes you want to use the phone more for more things.

One thing I hated though is the camera. Grainy as ****.

One awesome thing is that I was able to download mp3 by clicking on a link and doing "save as" something that doesn't exist as far as I know in ios.

Lastly, they have a thing to automatically launch actions once you plug in accessories, also it can can deactivate wifi automatically when it's out of range of your preferred spots to save batter.

I was really surprised to read this, but then I found this review where they seem to find that auto shooting mode isn't able to bring out anything even close to what that camera is really capable of. Which I guess means that much of its issues could be fixed through a software update.

Have you tried shooting in manual mode?
 
Haven't yet as they are quite a few setting to tinker with but hopefully a software update will will fix the automatic mode. The camera was a big selling point is Sony marketing.

Oh also set up face unlock. It works surprisingly well and fast on this phone although I am sure it is not the most secure.

The HTC One has the easiest migration out of all Android phones that I am aware of. Just do a iTunes backup first, then connect the HTC One and use the HTC Sync Manager, which will automatically read data from the iPhone backup and import them to the One. When I switched it imported most of my stuff on my iPhone, including all the photos and even the wallpapers, except for some app settings. The easy switch is one of the reasons why I recommend this phone so much.
 
camera

I would just like to update this thread and say that the camera of the z1 is actually not that bad after an update and actually looking at the pictures in the compuer. They looked worse on the phone itself.
