Patrick Stewart played Picard for how many years? Chalamet played in 1 Dune movie. No, it would not be like that…Can’t see that happening. It would be like Patrick Stewart showing up in a Star Wars film!

It'sjustyou.Maybe it is just me, but I find these ads to be quite cringe to watch. It is a tv streaming service, not a cure for cancer, so maybe they can go lighter on self praise
Seeing the reaction of other people I‘m certainly not the only one, but to each their ownIt'sjustyou.
Never watched it. Waiting for part 2 so I can watch the full movie in one go. (obviously that'll be 4+ hours but still...)It’s a little jarring to see the overlap of people on a tech site who are apparently also unfamiliar with Dune.

When Craig delivers a zinger like that, it just comes off as pretentious IMO.
I have no idea why people are pretending they don't know who Chalamet is, but that aside, this advert is kind of cringe.
But Stewart was in Dune.Patrick Stewart played Picard for how many years? Chalamet played in 1 Dune movie. No, it would not be like that…
I think it's more an appeal to Chalamet's fans...It's just a teaser to build interest and buzz for an eventual announcement of his AppleTV project(s). I don't think the talent decision process is supposed to cross your mind. This is advertising that feels like it misses most of the USA, given that most of us are not actors trying to decide on our next job(s), because that's what it feels like: a come-on to acting talent to favor their projects.
It obviously also shows a nice selection of Apple's programming, but its primary aim feels like it's aimed at acting talent.
I could be wrong. My being wrong has happened before and will happen again!
I know it’s scripted, but I just kind of see these ads as rich actor wants to become even more rich and it sort of rubs me the wrong way.I have no idea why people are pretending they don't know who Chalamet is, but that aside, this advert is kind of cringe. I don't really get it. Why are they portraying him in a mansion with a chef, etc? Like, what am I supposed to take from this as a viewer? Don't really think the concept works, but that's not Chalamet's fault. Assumedly he's required to do these ads as a precursor to his new Apple show.
This guy knows how advertising works. lol.So this campaign is obviously building up to a Super Bowl ad spot where he gets the call, right…
I think it just shows how out of touch forum members are rather than apple...This guy knows how advertising works. lol.
I don't work for the folks that made this ad, but I do work in advertising, and it's a little jarring how few are getting the joke here. And I don't think it's because it's buried. Like him or not, Timothée Chalamet is one of the hottest actors right now. And again, like him or not, he IS talented. So, to see Apple working with such a wide range of reputable actors — but not him — is the joke for this and the previous "Call Me" companion ad.
Honestly, the amount of scorn I often see here for anything that isn't a product-heavy ad kind of surprises me. I rather like that they're willing to try new things out. Creativity necessitates experimentation. Otherwise, it's not creative.
Probably because there's an overlap with those that fell asleep reading the Lord of the Rings. It’s a little jarring to see the overlap of people on a tech site who are apparently also unfamiliar with Dune.
If you think that's bad, just wait until you watch their keynotes.
They literally pretended that they ignored years of customer feedback and only came up with "dark mode" after noticing the "beauty of Mojave at night."
Maybe it is just me...
