Tiny Circle of Holes above the Front Camera iPad 2

What are the circle of tiny holes above the front facing camera on the iPad 2? I just installed a Zagg invisibleSHIELD and it's covering these holes up.

Circle at the front is a proximity or light sensor. The hole on top/back is the mic

Light/Proximity sensor won't be affected. But you may want to cut a small hole for the mic. But I am not sure if your shield would cover mic anyway, it's not on the front of the tablet.
