I made a modified version of TinyUmbrella to support iOS 4.0.2 and 3.2.2.

Screenshots:

Modifications:

1) The source file com\semaphore\fw\DeviceOSVersion.java has been recompiled, after adding the lines for iOS 4.0.2 and 3.2.2
2) The source file com\semaphore\fw\DeviceHardware.java has been recompiled, after changing the default iOS versions.
3) The necessary BuildManifest.plist files have been copied from Apple's original IPSW files to com\semaphore\data.
4) The version file com\semaphore\data\version.plist has been altered.

Why in the world would you want to save the blobs for 4.0.2? All it does is patch the jailbreak from 4.0.1. There is no jailbreak for 4.0.2 (other than the 3G using redsn0w).

I'll quote semaphore, the creator of tinyumbrella who said on his site:

For all of you impatient and waiting to save your 4.0.2 / 3.2.2 SHSHs keep this in mind.

1. 4.0.2 is a USELESS firmware. There is nothing worth saving. All it did was patch the exploit that allows you to jailbreak.
2. There is NO reason to EVER upgrade to 4.0.2. The patch that is available to protect you from malicious PDFs has been released in Cydia by saurik. Go get the 'PDF Patch' by Jay Freeman (saurik).

I'm going to assume that those of you still complaining about 4.0.2 signatures really have no clue so I'll give you a pass. The rest of you should just sit tight and encourage anyone you know with iDevices to save your 4.0.1 / 3.2.1 SHSH while you still can.

And in answer to some questions, no there is no way to get the application to make the 4.0.2 / 3.2.2 requests without an update. Don't post your mash-up code in the comments of this blog.

Why wouldn't you?

If a jailbreak is created for 4.0.2 then and only then would the need for this SHSH have any validity. But why would the team waste their time creating a jailbreak for a firmware that did nothing but break the previous jailbreak's exploit intentionally?

Dev team is probably going to offer JB solution for 4.1 and the exploit use will probably also exist in 4.0.2. Let's say some people don't like certain parts of the 4.1 or it causes certain issues, having the saved 4.0.2 SHSH and the ability to downgrade to it wouldn't be such a bad idea.

So that way you don't have people making ******** 4.0.2 saves like the OP?

One possible reason:

I dont want to JB anymore. Dont like the features in 4.1, and want 4.01 minus the security hole. BAM, 4.02 would be useful.

Apple doesn't force you to update beyond 4.0.2
So 4.0.2 is available for you now without the need of hashes.

And if you have Cydia saving your hashes for that phone already, it will continue saving hashes for new firmware versions, even if you are no longer jailbroken.

So, the 4.0 2 hashes will get saved, along with 4.1 hashes when it is released giving you the option to re-jailbreak when tools are available and restore if ever needed.

Apple does not force you to update at all, but being able to restore if needed once the 4.02 window is closed and 4.1+ is the only one available is a concern for a few.

I honestly could care less about getting 4.02 hashes.

I was not aware Cydia requested hashes for firmware not installed. If this is the case, it is only a matter of time before everyone has 4.02 saved anyways.

If you saved 4.0.1 shsh then everyone is fine 4.0.2 is useless anyways, install Saurik's patch and you now have FW 4.0.2 plus its better to wait for a release from semaphore anyways :/

but downgrading to 4.0.2 still leaves you in the situation of needing a jailbreak for 4.0.2.... theres no way to tell if 4.1 jailbreak would work on 4.0.2 and with the 4.0.2 fix already released on cydia it still leaves 4.0.2 downgrading irrelavant and useless

Unless someone doesn't have his SHSHs for iOS 4.0.1. Time will tell if the next jailbreak will work on 4.0.2 or not. Anyway, it's never a bad idea to have SHSHs of all iOS versions. You can't have too much SHSHs, only too little ;)

I also added support for iOS 4.0.2 SHSHs for the iPod touch 2G.

I'm looking for the RedSn0w 0.9.5.0 or the TinyUmbrella v4.0.0 for iPhone 3GS with iOS 4.0.0 8A293.ipsw file but can't find either of these particular ones. Does anybody know a dmg download link or may have it? thank you.

I thought it would have been better to keep the same subject question even if it was in an old thread for references to old info that people were using back then and to alert the users whom written into this thread so that they could tell me what they did or if they have some old dmg files that I could use. And this thread is now current so people can see it yes.
