I've noticed tinyumbrella hasn't been saving my shsh blobs for iOS5 betas and gm to cydia, thankfully they are saved locally but would there be a reason they are not saving to cydia?

    Maybe yes...

As i see it the SHSH's can be saved but are of no use for the moment.
TU hasn't been update to save the 5.01, Semaphore @notcom usually takes a little bit of time to get TU up to speed for the new firmware release.

That said indeed the validating process is different than on previous firmware so maybe we don't need them anymore, let's see what the Dev's come up with.

Also Cydia is not always up to date with displaying SHSH's, as long as you have them locally and Cydia has the rest and is "making life easy" than you should be ok.

As far as i know (and I may had missed something), you can't save them anymore, they are the same way that the BB SHSHs are they actually change every time they are requested (instead as before that they were unique per IEMI and version), so whatever you save is an instance and it will expire the on the next request.
