They still may get stock. I noticed they update the Apple Store refurb section after midnight (12.30am or so) Tues to Sat. The Macbooks have been getting sold old out by early morning. I had to stay up late Tues night to order the £659 model. There was no sheet between the screen and the keyboard and there was some debris around the laptop, so I think it had been opened before but the Mac still looked scratch-free. Unfortunately, there are some very slight bumps/gaps above the ports and left of the screen (two other Macbooks at work are perfect in comparison) so I called the Apple Store. They said I could return it within 14 days, so I have some time to see first if that doesn't get any worse.

2.4 Ghz Plastibook Arrived...

Didn't have the sheet between keyboard & screen, otherwise looks & smells like new. Refurb or new? Can't tell, don't care :D

Wee bit of backlight bleed lower left screen, but as a whole screen is heaps better than my iBook G4's so I'm happy.

Now I'm busy doing fresh leopard install on partioned hard drive (still using iBook at the moment).:D

UPDATE: it was supposed to have 2GB ram - it came with 4GB!! Score! :D

might call apple and see if they will offer HE discount on the refurbs

I called them about this 10 days ago. Refurb store is separate from the HE store so you can't get an additional discount, or the 3 year warranty, or a free iPod nano. But to be honest, you'll still save more money than if you bought them from the HE store 2 weeks ago (before the updates).

I saw them Thurs or Fri I think. They might get more tonight. Either stay up until 1-2am (2 more hours) or wake up before 7am. Good luck. :)
