I thought I had figured out everything useful that many may not know on the iPhone and iPad. Apparenly, I was wrong. Have you ever come across something that you couldn't scroll through on a web page? An example would be when you try to look at the full friends list on a Facebook page, standard one-finger scrolling won't work. This is true of any seperate in-page area that would require you to have your cursor in it to scroll through on a computer. I didn't think it was possible to scroll through these in-page areas, and that's annoyed me a few times in the past.

Two-finger scrolling will allow you to scroll through in-page scrollable areas. Interestingly, two-finger scrolling has no momentum as standard scrolling does. Hopefully this is as rarely known as I had thought.

    HOLY @#$%ing #@$% - Gold star - seriously...

I've used an iPhone since day 2 of G1 - I have been using that stupid magnifying glass to try and get to the bottom of text fields that whole time.

    Honestly - Rock on, thanks...

I too have learned something new. I'm often surprised at the folks that don't know how to take a screen shot though. (Home and Sleep button)

Yeah the day I discovered this by accident it felt like I had discovered magic. I just thought that I was dumb and just hadn't figured it out.

Glad to know it wasn't common knowledge!

Good idea, I didn't realize that this could help me scroll through text fields, too. I was getting annoyed at having to use the magnifying glass to scroll through long text fields as well.

Seriously... I've had few complaints with the iPad, but scrolling through post replies or Facebook friends seemed to take forever or be downright impossible. Until now!

THIS is an AWESOME tip... Thanks!

It is usable using the two-finger scrolling, but I find it very annoying to use it that way. It so much easier to just use the normal 1 finger scrolling so that when you are forced to use two fingers, its very annoying, very slow, and doesn't work sometimes when there is a video.

I hope Google Reader fixes this interface problem soon!

Just what I was looking for.
I had no clue on how to scroll the "all items" in Google Reader desktop view on the iPad.
Now with 2 finger scrolling, it works like a champ.

    Thanks.
