I've always had 16gb iPhones as they are more affordable and I can manage storage well. I was wondering if any of you guys had more tips and tricks or like a daily maintenance routine for surviving with a 16gb iPhone??

I backup all my pictures with google photos and remove them from the iPhone internal storage.

EDIT: Forgot to mention I don't have music on my phone.

It's fairly easy for me. I always have around 7GB left on my 16GB.

Music: I stream it and never locally install it on my device.
Pictures/Videos: I upload them to Dropbox/iCloud
Apps: I don't really download many apps. I have all the ones I want installed, though.
Games: I never game on my phones...unless you count a word game or two

I've had 64GB of phones, and typically have around 55GB of free space left on them...so a 64GB is beyond pointless for my usage.

Microsoft OneDrive sync, you can keep photos/videos on the cloud between desktop syncs.
DropBox, always good to keep a 2nd backup of photos/videos.
Box is useful for document storage & the built-in preview functions are useful (since I don't subscribe to Office 365 nor want to use Office Mobile)
OfficeSuite & Smart Office are decent options if you don't want to pay for a subscription of Office 365 to open, create or save MS Word/Excel files.

Keep 3rd party camera & video solutions to the minimal:
Camera+ is the best 3rd party camera program.
ProCam is the best camera & video program.
FILMIC Pro is the best video recorder.
DMD Panorama is the best panorama program.

I have the greatest tip ever ..... Do not buy a 16gb model

If you are worried about spending $100 more then you shouldn't be buying a smart phone at all
What's wrong with wanting to save money on an iPhone by budgeting your memory? $100 is a lot of money, for marginal utility gain. You can buy 3 lumia 640s with that money, which has expandable memory via sd card.

I'm OK with lots of 'pointless' :D

Unless you have Unlimited Data to rely on the Cloud, don't bother spend the money to upgrade.

I have Spotify free for 2 years but I can't see myself paying $9.99 a month.

This is why sometimes I hate Apple, this whole 16GB is ridiculous. Forcing their fans to spend more on the 64/128 options.

If you manage your photos/videos, music and texts you're golden.

  1. I send all photos/videos to onedrive
  2. I stream all my music
  3. Texts automatically delete after 1 year.

That's it. Other than occasionally purging old apps (I have 60 right now) 2.7 GB free. I don't do anything else. I just use the phone :)

How about you keep your sarcasm to a low and if you don't have any tips or tricks to add like all these other great people then delete yourself out of this thread. Thank you!
[doublepost=1459267139][/doublepost]Awesome tips guys! Some of these I already do like google photos stores all my pictures and videos to the cloud I only keep the most important pictures on my phone, I do a lot of streaming but I do have a good size of music stored on my phone between 1-2 gigs and after everything still have about 4 gigs left. But there's always room to learn and there might be something that works for someone that we didn't know that we can benefit from
