Me and my friend failed to get preorders despite refreshing as soon as the timer ticked (while everyone else was saying the website and app was ready, we were still down).

We are going to be camping at the Apple Store. We’re thinking about coming at about 4pm the day before, so that should beat everyone who camps after work.

Any tips? Any idea for how we’re going to get power? Do their wifi work even when the store is closed?

Haven’t camped since the 6. A battery powered charger would help. Take an iPad with Movies, warm blankets and lawn chairs.... it’s much better if you go with at least two people... that way one person can take off and go find a bathroom or go charge their phone... also if you bring any chairs or sleeping bags, Apple will not let you bring that stuff in the stores, so you need to have somebody go put it in your car for you... The Apple Store by where I live always passed out drinks and snacks an hour or so before the store opens. Redbull is usually there passing out drinks. One year companies were there passing out accessories. There were always people there trying to buy your old iPhones. Right before the store opens all the Apple store employees run out of the store and give everybody in line high-five.... also once the store opens the line can still move pretty slow, you’re not guaranteed to get the color/size that you want. The closer you are to the front in the line the better your chances. I don’t think I’ve ever been in line less than an hour after the store opened.

Also... about 30-60 minuets before opening they come down the line and pass out cards for what they have. So you will know what you’re getting at that point. Sometimes they allow each person to get up to two devices sometimes only one... just depends on what they get

I’m not sure if waiting in line is still as big of an event as it was a few years ago. I think a lot of people pre-order now... it was a fun experience for several years.

A few years back I was inline at mall. Apple people came out going down the line and gave ticket for available stock. That way people later in line knew early that no need to wait.
