That 1y-old postings about using RAM for browser-cache and better use of cache for static sites has been good help and IMHO a good reason to revive this thread and keep related things together.
Latest postings do no really add informations to the topic but made me re-read this thread again. You don't go through the same river twice ...

1-2y old comments to a 7y old thread about 20y old hardware ... Who cares about time. :D
