Is it just me, or is it really annoying that so many app icons have 'HD' sloppily branded across them? It almost always looks like crap and seems completely pointless. There is no non-'HD' variant of these apps on the iPad. And the app store itself now separates iPad apps from iPhone apps, so there isn't really a need for it there either. So why don't they just make them look normal?

When you synchronize apps via iTunes the apps aren't divided into two groups (iPhone/iPad) so some indication in the name is welcome.

In any case, why would such a small thing bother anyone? I'm more annoyed by the words under icons not fitting in the space provided and being replaced by ...

    They are differentiated.

And yes it must be stopped. It's an appalling aesthetic choice.

    Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8A293 Safari/6531.22.7)

I heard EA are planning HD apps for iPhone 4. I expect the same price point of the iPad apps. Trouble is with the iPad HD price points is that they are no longer impulse purchases. For £7 + I look at reviews and more often than not end up not buying that app.
