I have enough of seeing this pandemic outside. I come here for comfort and to read the latest news, but lately you have been posing articles with people wearing masks. Face masks offend me to the point that I rarely go out anymore. If you can't find a picture of someone smiling then don't post an image at all.

It's not a big deal, in my opinion. Focus on the article itself and forget bout the mask picture. Problem solved.
Can't. I run this extension if I want to read the article.
But having to turn it on and off which I do on regular news sites is a PITA. I don't need to see on MR.

MacRumors isn't going to start catering their articles to you, me or any other individual. If you really have such a big problem with a picture that you won't read the article in spite of, then don't read any of the articles.

Everywhere you go on the internet, you are going to eventually run into mask pictures. Compared to more important things in life, mask pictures are meaningless. Don't allow it to affect your personal life and focus on more productive things.

When people smile they often times squint their eyes. I look for this now when I talk with people at the grocery store and what not. I try to go out of my way to be friendly, positive - I've noticed a lot of others do as well.

Jack Skellington mask here (little pictures of him, not a full on smiley face - good idea tho). I am going to look for one.

Can't imagine being offended by masks. They're going to be here for awhile I imagine!

Wearing a Mask now is our new normal. TV Characters wear masks, Reporters so I guess never go outside or watch or read anything and then you won't have to worry about it. I can see myself wearing masks permanently because people are nasty and they do not practice good hygiene.

Also I don't have to smell anyones stanky breath anymore.

And do we have to hear about the 400,000 dead people too? I mean it really bums out my browsing.

If we're going to live in an alternate reality why not go all in.

Why does seeing people with them offend you? It's to keep your fellow humans safe during a nasty pandemic. It sucks having to talk to people without seeing half of their face but that's just what needs to be sacrificed for awhile while living through something like this

Offended by face masks . Man I’m really sorry and I actually mean that joking aside. It must be really hard to get through life for many out there. Never understood how people so easily annoyed and offended by the little things manage?? Truly intriguing.

I was going out nearly everyday seeing face masks. After about a month it got to me mentally where I could not see them no more. I nearly died when I was three so the past trauma of face masks which I could not remember just hit me where I can't see them any more without getting rap pit heart beat and nausea. Higher dosage of medication did not help. No I don't watch the news at all.

BTW AngerDanger I have you another avatar's I encounter blocked using uBlock Origin.

I would consider talking to a professional about anxiety and related issues. That is a serious and heartfelt suggestion.

I'm with the OP! Anybody who shows a mask, whether it be IRL, an article, or their own avat—
I'll put a big mask on my screen, so I can't see anything.

^ Correct.

Drop a post on the statistics thread with the names you want graphed (refer to post #4), what to graph (Posts or Likes), the range (weekly for the past 2 years), and the style: actual count, growth, or count per week. You also have an option of N-weekly: so bi-weekly, tri-weekly, etc.

I need to think for a bit to ensure that I use this power for good.

No offense intended, but then the problem is not an article, or a picture of an article. If the problem is that bad - and I do hope and pray that you recover - then you can only stop checking macrumors and news (or whatever triggers your issue) while you go on therapy. Masks are going to stay for a while, exactly as loud booms are going to be here forever (triggering those with PTSD from war) either in real life or on the screen.
Tony, you can do it.
