Offended by masks? That seems a bit extreme. It's hard to take a photo of anyone now without someone wearing a mask. It's part of living through a pandemic.

Exactly, and very well said.

We are living in the middle of a pandemic, and masks are a necessary part of coping with and dealing with that.

Trolling or accidental reveal of angsty pangsty? Either way, it's unpleasant.

Stop by for tea, some afternoon... Good Day!

Wearing a Mask now is our new normal. TV Characters wear masks, Reporters so I guess never go outside or watch or read anything and then you won't have to worry about it. I can see myself wearing masks permanently because people are nasty and they do not practice good hygiene.

Also I don't have to smell anyones stanky breath anymore.
On the flipside, I really need to lay off of the black coffee first thing in the morning. Phew.

Always found Coffee (black - no sugar/cream) - helped with the bad breath situation? :p

That is one good point - ever since the era of masks, haven't really noticed bad breath as much as I used to. Kinda nice.

Personally, I would appreciate it if TV shows that insist on using masks (which I am totally FINE with) would reduce their audio so I can understand what the heck they are saying.

My 53 year old ears aren't what they used to be. :(

Wow. An angry emoji on this post? Yeah, you really NEED professional help.

I was going out nearly everyday seeing face masks. After about a month it got to me mentally where I could not see them no more. I nearly died when I was three so the past trauma of face masks which I could not remember just hit me where I can't see them any more without getting rap pit heart beat and nausea. Higher dosage of medication did not help. No I don't watch the news at all.

BTW AngerDanger I have you another avatar's I encounter blocked using uBlock Origin.
Truth is, you need help (and I in no way mean that as an insult; which I sadly feel like I have to make extra clear).

There's just no way that you can ban/influence a whole community from posting news articles that represent what people actually wear nowadays; so you need to take care of yourself in some other way. Like simply just blocking all images here.

I wear either a dark green one or camouflage one. When I pop to the post office and put it on in the car park I do feel like I’m about to rob the place!
Also with a face like mine people will prefer it if I continue to wear a mask after the pandemic! :)

To the OP I hope you get some help with the anxiety etc. Lots of people who had previously had no issues are now not doing so well. I work with two who have been badly affected. It’s a tough world out there.

Yeah, if anything good comes out of this mess I hope it is that we normalise "mental illnesses".

Like, I thought I was an introvert that was happier without people; but this level of social isolation has just turned me into a non-productive mess. And video meetings/calls don't do jack **** to refill that need of mine to actually interact with people.

I’ve not really changed my amount of interactions. I still go into the office once or twice a week. There are only a few there of course.
But outside of work I never used to see anyone except Mrs AFB anyway.

elWhen I see someone wearing a mask, it shows me they care. It's a positive. Maybe try flipping your perception a bit and see if that helps?
Care what they look creepy.

I am not saying to censored articles but if you are showing a bunch of people in an article it makes sense to show there full faces like nature attended.

I also notice that the face mask articles come from Apple news itself which makes no sense even though MR posted an video of a woman posing for a picture wearing a mask which made her look like a crazy serial killer which offended and irritating me but I said nothing and thumb down the video like every face mask video find on YouTube.

The thing is I nearly died when I was about 4 years old so I have a past trauma of seeing face masks doctors and nurses that I don't remember but came to light over the summer when it started affected me mentally.

I am truly sorry that you experienced trauma as a child which is affecting you now. I do agree with the others here who suggested you need professional counseling. But in all honestly, with mask mandates all over the world, it is nearly impossible to get a photo of people in public not wearing masks. Do you think that news agencies should just use stock photos that are not related to whatever article they are with? Masks are a part of life in 2021; there is no way to avoid that.

I sincerely hope you reach out to a professional for help.

You do know that the rest of us don't react like that, right?

I was deathly ill at the age of 4 and traumatized by it through young adulthood. I got professional help and freed myself of that burden by putting the past in the past and getting rid of the elephant that was sitting on my head. Everybody is different you have to take the necessary steps for you.

Undone emoji. I am getting help with a therapist but even that's remote using Webex.

To more of a tech forum question Webex crashes everytime it is launched through a web browser but once I click on reopen it is fine and I can do my remote therapy session.

Good luck.

As a kid I loved the ocean and went every year... until one year, I was swept REALLY far out via a rip current. The coast guard had to call a boat to get me. Since then I have had a huge fear of the ocean and it hasn't gone away - though I think ... I think..... I could get back in the water again lol.

It's amazing what childhood experiences do to ya :).

At least you remember. I probably will have to go into hypnosis if it would work with me to find thst deep memory in the hospital with the face mask doctors and nurses.

Face masks offend me
Lovely. But you do know you don't have a right not to be offended, yeah?

I might be offended by people named "tonyr6", but so what? Should all people called tonyr6 stop posting when I'm on the forums? No, obviously not. And so, you can be offended about pictures of people doing their bit and wearing a face mask all you like, but that's the end of it. You don't have the right to get MR or anyone else to remove such pictures.

It's not bad, per se. It's just a blast of black coffee aroma. :D
