How’s everyone’s natural Ti holding up to scratches? Given there are scratches out of the box and seemingly without the person knowing how they happened, it would be good to know whether the people without initial scratches are still scratch free?

I have a few more days to decide whether to purchase the SBTi or Ti. Purchasing the Ti requires Apple care due to the scratching but I think I’d get away without AC on the SBTi but it looks so similar to the Alu and theTi is so damn classy.

Had to exchange my first 2 Ti due to scuffs right out of the box. The third one was perfect and it has been over 3 weeks and still pristine.

Got mine today too. So far very satisfied.

My only problem so far, is that the staff member at the Apple Store who set up my watch, neglected to put back the watch pouch into the box. When I got back to my office and noticed it missing and called the store, it had already been discarded. Bummer.

Wow, I like that black titanium over my current black stainless. Is titanium any tougher than stainless, especially in black?

Yuck, imho .. I think the titanium looks bulkier in pictures than any other S4/S5 Watch and worse it looks like horribly applied paint by a toddler. I was expecting a cleaner matte type of finish.

I cannot wait for AWatch Nike+ to finally get SS version!

My new Ti watch with ML

Wait a minute ... now THAT looks the part actually. Hmm.

I think we need to clarify that there is a difference between scratches and marks on the Titanium watches. After 4 weeks I see some marks. But nothing that I can feel when rubbing my finger over.

As a long term owner of a Ti Tudor watch and new AW5 Ti, I have no problem with small marks on my watch, I enjoy wearing my watches and they are part of my daily life. I'm not sure it it's been posted on this thread yet but you can easily rub marks off Ti with a blue ink eraser. Lightly rub in the direction of the grain. Deeper scratches might need a Scotchbrite pad but you need to be careful with this.

After reading this thread and other articles about titanium watches I’ve learned that they scratch easily.
But with Swiss watches it develops into a patina that’s to be enjoyed because Swiss watches are designed to be worn for a very long time.
Using titanium in an item of tech that is very quickly out of date and to be disposed of is probably not a good idea.
Personally I think trying to market tech in the same marketplace as Swiss watches is something of a mystery.
I’m waiting to receive my titanium Apple Watch today but if there are any blemishes on it then I’m going straight back to a SS one and may very well just start buying the aluminium versions after.
The profit margins on the SS and edition watches must be insane.

You can remove scratches from titanium just like you can from stainless steel. There is a certain type of pad that you can lightly buff brushed titatnium with that will remove any surface scratches. I've done it on titanium watches before and it works perfectly.

Mine just came in. Had delivery of half december but last week there was a tracking.

Really love it! Had the SS models the releases before the S5but this gives a nice different look.

only don’t like it with my leather buckles. The link from band to watch (Blinking SS) is just off.

so i will wear it with my leather loops

My 44mm natural titanium has arrived and it looks fantastic.
So glad I went with this model.
I’ll admit the side button has a bit of side to side wobble but I expect the manufacturing tolerance probably isn’t as tight as it is on the other models.

Got my saddle leather loop (L) yesterday. Digging it for sure. Prefect pairing with the SBTi.

How strong is the magnet on the leather loop? I tried the band at the Apple Store and found the magnet very weak compared to the ML.

Just looking at some of these pics and thinking...

I had a Leather Loop, and it smelled something awful from sweat, and also deteriorated.
I had a Milanese Loop, and it constantly wriggled loose and needed to be tightened.

For the last 2 watches I've just gotten the elastomer sports band, because it is by far the most comfortable, most secure, and most durable. I realize the others are meant for style above all else, but ultimately that means you can't wear them as your everyday band.

Some people have allergic reactions to some bands. Your comments are unique to you and may not be workable for others.

SS is the least reactive. I love the link bands as my everyday capable bands along with the elastomer bands mainly because I can swim and shower with them. Any leather bands I have are more “once and awhile” type bands because of their lack of waterproofing.

Yes, a SS link bracelet is my next attempt. I already have a SS watch and a SS wedding ring.

I like popping into this thread from time to time to admire all of you that sprung for the Titanium case. I think the natural Titanium looks amazing! I would love to have one, but just could not bring myself to do it for a watch that I will only keep for maybe 3 years, tops. So I bought a Nike+ AW5 instead.

Don't get me wrong, in no way shape or form am I questioning your decision to buy one! It just was not justifiable for me. (But I wish it was! They look really really good!)

For now, I'll keep living vicariously through the pics provided in this thread.

I went from SBSS with a SB ML to natural Ti with a SS ML. Love it so far. The watch came with a khaki sport loop and I added the ML as I have had good luck with the ML given my tendency toward serious watch induced wrist rashes.

I tried the link bracelet and Hand dexterity issues precluded that band since I could not manage to close it. as it did for the sport band.

Any other bands worth considering?

Thanks
