I have an old Titanium G4 Powerbook 667Mhz that is used as my kids internet mac.

It was up and running this week. Tried to power it up yesterday and it wouldn't power up at all. Removed the battery and reinserted it, no luck. Also pressed the button on the battery. It had 1 of the 4 lights flashing.

I am assuming that the battery has bitten the dust. Is that correct?

Yes you are correct and you also unfortunately even might have trouble getting a replacement battery.:(
