Nothing beats the "Skip" feature - no cloud "DVR" works as well as this service. Five minutes after the show is over, Skip works - so the concept of time-shift with zero commercials works great for OTA.

Ditched CableTV, so I don't know how well the basic cable channels execute this feature.

Exactly this. I love my TiVo and really hope that they survive these growing pains their having and survive. I think the streaming app is the way to go. I wonder if it will work outside the network. I have a Roku stick that I take when I travel and it would be great if I could watch shows from the TiVo on it while away. They FINALLY updated the iOS app and it looks and works much better now so it seems like they're moving towards at least catching up to the times.

With streaming the way it is these days , is this ( recording stuff ) really that important anymore ??

From using the atv 4k with an ethernet input I now never have to worry about missing anything - ever - it's life changing tbh 🙂

You’d think the appleTV one would be fairly straight forward as it’s basically a new interface for an existing program.

At least supposedly you can stream from the Tivo iOS program to the appleTV in the mean time. Don’t know how well that works.

Tivo demoed all three months ago, and they looked great then. Hopefully this quarter...

This article could just as easily be interpreted as claiming TiVo will be launching an app for  TV that RUNS ON THE TIVO but this is never clarified.

Honestly, I was so excited for a second.

this is driving me nuts. I could really use it, and NOTHING since January...and all three versions appeared to be useable from the demo in January.

I don’t know how well the screen mirroring thing from the Tivo iOS App to AppleTV works...maybe it’s already good enough As a work around 😕
