+1. They need to hire a UI designer that knows iOS7 ASAP.

Yeah, I think they have a limited number of engineers for this. If you compare the UI for Netflix on Tivo with the UI for Netflix on Apple TV the difference is stunning. Tivo is great for what it does best, but they are behind the curve in UI development. They are a relatively small company pedaling as fast as they can.

A few replies to the concerns:

(1) The Tivo interface blows away Fios. It also is far superior to the kludge for whole home streaming that Verizon is theoretically preparing for sometime before 2014 9or so they say).

(2) I used Tivo ages ago and went away from it to Slingbox, etc. I started Slinging in 2005 (before Dish bought them and screwed them up) and I currently have a 500, which works great.

(3) The app still does not stream live TV (or any TV) for me outside of my home network. Hopefully they will active this feature soon. Did the Macrumors guys try this feature before they posted the article, or did they just read the press release?

I had the same problem, then found the fix in the comments on Zatznotfunny.com - you have to re-setup the streaming from the TiVo app on your iOS device WHILE ON your home network. After that, it works pretty well - there are 7 possible levels of quality, and I'm only getting 3-4 on the work WiFi. There doesn't appear to be a way to build up a buffer - but you are given the option to download a show instead of streaming it. There's also a dedicated 30sec skip button!
