Anyone using this combo successfully?

I see some threads state there are sync issues. Not much else written.

My local Sam's Club has a sale on the u3415w for $499 which ends tomorrow.

That price seems crazy good to me assuming it works...

TIA.

I use that monitor with my 2016 tmbp. Zero issues with the MBP. What is this sync issue? I get full resolution at 60hz using through a dock since there is no usb-c connectivity.

The people with the flickering were not using a dock but the Apple AV adapter.

Here is just 1 sample.

I was using a 2017 MBP 15 2.9ghz version with my Samsung 34" ultra wide with no issues (DP to USB-C on MacBook) Also with an adapter

That is messed up but probably specific to the Apple av adapter. That’s surprising that it would do that with an Apple brand adapter but clearly it happened. I never tried with an adapter so if you plan to use it with one, I can’t help with that specifically.

From my research last year, DP seemed to work better since more bandwidth is allowed in that port. Also it’s dependent on what else you have connected to the adapter since usb-c does have a limited bandwidth.

It might help if you specified what you plan to connect, how you plan to connect your monitor (hdmi/dp), etc.

I'll be using it shortly as that Dell monitor is the one I have. My new MBP 2017 15" is on it's way here, and so is my Elgato TB3 dock. :)
