This is kind of a continuation of a previous thread... thats tmobile hotspot, theres att's. Which one looks to offer a broader range? is either going to be a strong choice to count on when you arent exactly inside one of the building/companies that supports it?

    Minneapolis, MN
My location appears to have 1 T-Mobile hot spot and 7 ATT.

Starbucks and Kinkos wifi zones are pretty much limited to the premises. They both offer T-Mobile. The speed is great, there's no doubt about that, but you pretty much have to be in or very near to get a good signal. That's based on my experiences with a 12" PB and it doesn't have the best of range so take it with a grain of salt.

too bad at&t don't offer that $1.99 a month service for wireless accounts that they do for broadband subscribers.

so as an AT&T subscriber, will I have free access to these hotspots
? Me thinks that AT&T hotspot locator page will become very valuable. Iphone people are gonna figure out what businesses have free wifi and will frequent those establishments.

For sure, I will not be going to starbucks anymore, I will be hitting caribou or other local shops that offer free wifi.

Or McDonalds. ha-ha. I find it funny that the majority of AT&T hot spots are McDonalds. We all want to go there. :(
