This day just gets crappier. Normally I wouldn’t cite TMZ but they were the first to report a death at Paisley Park. They usually get the breaking news stuff right. :(

Now CBS chimes in saying he’s on life support after heart attack Sunday night at his home in Malibu. :(

EDIT: TMZ now reporting that Petty has died. Crap. :(

Pull through Tom. Wouldn’t be surprised if exhaustion from his tour that ended last week is a factor.

Yep. Man, that sucks. Loved Tom Petty. :(

TMZ now saying report from LAPD that he died is inaccurate and he’s still clinging to life but not expected to live much longer.

We're slowly losing all the great musicians of the past. Of the Wilbury's, we've already lost the great Roy Orbison, and the equally great George Harrison. The loss of Tom Petty now, leaves only Jeff Lynne and Bob Dylan.
Losing all these music icons is a subtle reminder of our own mortality.

I appreciate and treasure all the great music all these artists have enriched our lives with. Rest in peace Tom!

My favorite artist of all time. His death has left me absolutely shattered. Grateful that I got to see him live over the past few years, but I'm in my early 20s so I never got to see him live in his prime.

RIP, Tom. Thank you for everything.

Wow, he was only 66. Very sad news, I enjoyed his music. Back in the day I wore out his Full Moon Fever album. There were so many good songs on that record.

Let's see if the Justin Biebers of the world can stand the test of time. At 66, Justin Bieber himself for instance is retired and living life as an ingrown toenail.

Thanks for the music, Tom Petty.
