I don't know if it is available or even possible.
I am on vacation right now with my iPhone and iPad ... Both have sim trays etc, but I am using my phone as a hotspot to get net access to my iPad.

What would be even nice in such scenarios would be if I could utilise both arials in both pieces of hardware since i have them to increase the range or speeds of data.

It seems a shame to have the hardware of 2 units, but only the power of one.

Not possible, unless you have another sim for the iPad.

That is a hardware level function, no developers on the app store would be allowed near that. Whether it's even possible is another thing altogether.

^ This. The iPad can't access the carrier network without it. It's not a software issue.
