To buy a Mcbook Pro 17" Or wait

Was in a mac store today, talking about buying a new macbook Pro 17", and the sales person said i should wait till feburary ? I have been reading and want a macbook pro 17", in canada i can get a mbp 17" Referb from apple.ca for 2200$ Plus tx,

Should i wait or is there a new macbook coming out ?

New MacBook Pros (updated ones) are expected in the next two months, with a possible new CPU called Arrandale (there is a big fat thread in this sub-forum) in it.

If you can wait this long, wait.

If we sound a little bit obnoxious and condescending it may be due to the fact that the question you asked is asked two to five times a day on this forum, even in this sub forum.

In the OP's defense, if you aren't familiar with the names, you may not know - but this is the sixth time I've seen this question today.

That's what I thought too, after I took the screenshot and saw no obvious "shall I wait or shall I buy" thread and only the name Arrandale pop up, which may mean nothing to "outsiders"*.

*People who don't frequent places for the acquisition of knowledge about the latest CPU technology.

My two searches via mroogle produced results using basic search terms.

And now a seventh time as it seems.

You have your answer already stored I way as I have seen.

I get the feeling, that the closer the update is, the more same threads will appear on a daily basis.

Now we just have to figure out, what the maximum number of daily threads is on the day before Apple releases the updates, so we could deduce a better estimate to when and put a big bumper sticker on every
