I have just seen a walmart add for a Apple watch 5 for $299 should I buy or wait until the new model comes out?

I would suggest waiting for the next version. If everything goes well, the new one will be released in 2 months.

I think I'd wait. Of course the new one will cost more. I will say my AW 4 with cellular has been very useful.

I'd love to see a round shaped one in the future!

I would suggest waiting for the next version. If everything goes well, the new one will be released in 2 months.

The earliest a new one will launch is most likely September. However, given the delay for iPhones that has been leaked, Apple could also have a slight delay for Apple Watch Series 6. I don’t think it will be delayed because the Apple Watch sells in much lower quantities than the iPhone, but it could happen.

$299 is a really good deal for the series 5. It’d be worth considering.

I have a few questions. Is this your first Apple Watch? If you do have one, which Apple Watch model do you have?

If you have an older Apple Watch model and you don’t upgrade that often, that’s a decent price point Walmart is offering, but if you have like a Series 4 for example, then I’d probably just wait to see what the S6 offers, as the ‘Series 5 is more of an incremental update with an always on display that is sub par, aside from the compass feature you will never likely use.
