Actually, I have had it with a company provided phone, and unless you specifically need it, its not that big of a deal. While I am sure it has its benefits, its not the end of the world and you folks need to realize that.

And a lot of us to. Funny how you don't realize something is important until you have the ability to do it.

It IS the "end of the world" for some users. The lack of voice and data I'm sure has robbed Verizon of a lot of customers.

Well, the wonderful thing is, you have a choice. For the last few years, that wasnt the case.
Stick with AT&T or go find a tall building/cliff and start the whole "ending" process.

Verizon doesn't have to contend with AT&T. They are better in every way except speed at the moment, but that is changing too. Verizon's LTE is already set to be faster than AT&T's LTE. Google it, you will see that Verizon bought the best LTE frequencies. Also, the entire big red Verizon Map will be 4G by 2013. As a matter of fact, Verizon 4G will be bigger than AT&T's 3G by the end of this year.

I will bet on Verizon.

Do frequencies determine how fast the LTE will be or do they just determine how well a signal penetrates buildings, etc? If Verizon's LTE is going to be significantly faster than AT&T's, that could sway me to move to Verizon sometime in the near future.

Or you could have just purchased another phone or jumped to/stayed with AT&T. You had choices before, you have them now. No one forced you to do anything.

AT&T's slogan is "America's fastest 3G network" for a reason. Quality over quantity.

Verizon chose quantity over quality.
