First of all.... i asked no comments on the retina display,
BECAUSE I DON'T CARE about that !
I have retina on my iphone and not on my ipad and i like them both, my eyes are fine you see :)

And for ALL THE OTHERS, thank you so much! :) you told me what i needed to know and now i can go to the store and i know what i have to look for and make the right decision :) i will make update tomoroow if i bought him or not :) wish all of you a very nice weekend :)

definitely iPad mini! The device is not so big so it's more practical. I use it also to work with an external keyboard.

I used an iPad 2 with my wife, pretty nice - I loved it over my Air and 4S. When the mini was announced I didn´t feel interested, in fact I skipped the part when I watched the Keynote. Beginning of last month my wife was awarded with an iPad 4 and iPad mini. We gave the 2 away and my wife wants to use the 4, while I got the mini. When I unboxed it, I had the first wow-effect. It is so much more light and the build quality and design is amazing. I fell in love right away, while my wife had the wow-effect with the performance and display of the 4. From the first day I could not hold off my hands from the mini though. It is amazing to have such a device in the hands and I also think the screen has won in comparison to the 2, but of course the retina of 4 is another category. Since last month there is not a single day without the mini, it is so much more fun and convenient compared to the 2, 3 or 4 or the iPad. Grab it in the morning to quickly look at the latest news or check some websites. The heavy usage is in evening for me, browsing, skype, games such as Asphalt racing & Real Racing 3 now. The performance is decent, but could need a little bump. I absolutely underestimated the mini, this is an amazing device I am even thinking of upgrading to more RAM now. 3/4G is not an issue, since I use the iPhone to tether the Internet connection. The point is actually not that I was lucky in getting a mini for free, but more that I like probably many others underestimate it. The iPad 4 is great in performance & screen, the mini is just so much more comfortable to use and better in design in my opinion - you just want to hold it in your hands. Battery is another positive thing, yesterday I had 15,5 hours of usage before recharing, running 6.1.2 - unbelievable.
I would give the iPad 2 away for the mini in a blink of an eye - it is amazing, very happy with it.

I've just returned my 4th Gen iPad for mini and think it's fantastic. The size a weight makes a huge difference, reading books, browsing websites and playing games feels like a totally difference experience, for the better. While is screen isn't Retina it's still very good (contrary to what some people say) and performance isn't much different to the iPad 4 in every day use. It seems the mini has been judged by some based on specs rather than what it's like to use. I also have a Nexus 7 which on paper should be superior, but for me it's not and will shortly be listed on eBay.

If Apple manage to produce a mini with a high resolution screen, faster processor, but with the same size, weight and battery life for me it will be the best tablet ever created.

And in 6 months will you be saying: "Don't buy Retina wait for Super Retina."? Especially since we don't know for certain when a Retina iPad Mini might appear on the market.

Have you actually looked at the iPad Mini screen or are you just saying that about the screen quality because it's not Retina? The iPad Mini has a decent screen. No, it's not retina, but you know something Retina is not needed for every usage. And in some cases, Retina can be a negative. For example sometimes with image/photo editing you do want to see each pixel.

I owned a mini and returned it due to the screen quality issues. I recommend to everyone who asks to wait for the retina version. Retina vs. non-retina is a no-brainer.

I don't think she cares about Retina so can we stop talking about how much you think it makes a difference. She's not interested in retina and neither am I I like what i see and that is all there is to it.

Why keep comparing and talking about something that is not in the actual product. it doesn't matter for what we need it for.

If I were you I'd wait for the retina screen, it's much better.:)

So i went to the apple store today, to have another look at the ipad mini....
And i did it with all of your comments in back of my mind...
And i must say...... I BOUGHT IT!
Without a doubt in my mind!
And i love the display! I tried the ibooks app in the store and it was all that i wanted!
So i dont know what the people mezn when they say it is fuzzy or to small!
It is easy to type, even easier then on my iphone hahah

So thanks for all the comments :) they helped me make my desicion and that is what i wanted :)

Awesome Kelsey,

I knew you'd love it. It's wonderful in every way. Now If I can get my 1password to work in it today, that will make my day for sure;)

what is 1password?

it is a program to generate and save your passwords on all your sites. It is a better way to keep all your passwords then on pieces of paper.

it's a keeper for your passwords. Works on all platforms, i.e.safari, Firefox, Internet explorer.

Takes a bit to learn as I'm trying to do today. Hoping to get it working on my iPad mini.

did you buy a case for your iPad mini:) that's another big decision. I just got one in the mail today.

I had one white one but then it got, you know, quite dirty. Looked good but it was dirty so this time around I went for black.

Ooooohhh you are so right! I stood there in the store for 15min, couldn't deside with cover to choose :)
I liked those from Belkin :)
I finallised it to two choices: a purple one with an elastic band or a white one with a magnetic claps that makes it look like an agenda.
I chose the purple one because i knew myself and white one would be dirty within a week from being in my purse hahaha

Hope your 1password works out :)

Love purple. Others cases ought to follow suit and give more color choices. I'm sure someone will buy it. Sick of boring black that looks like a Michelin tire

OMG
I just cant believe...
You people are so ignorant!!!!!!
I dont care about retina!

Look at this and you see why...pay attention to the displays!

And pls LEAVE my tread if you keep whining about retina!!! The problem is you yourself not the mini!!!!!!

Wow, what a hissy fit. You name a thread asking whether you should or shouldn't buy a mini and then jump out of your skin when the THE MOST OBVIOUS FACTOR apart from size is mentioned?

Wow.

I too use Moleskines, in conjunction with a mini and full sized ipad for on the go productivity...

Each device have their own uses. If you can, go for the mini. It's awesome!

They were probably talking about text in the browser. Particularly in potrait mode.

I have a Canon 60D to photograpf with :) photos taken with ipad mini would be for fun :) but i have a SD connector and it is nice when you make a citytrip you can rest in a cafe and look at pictures that we made over coffee :)

One thing to watch out for - the mini (and latest ipad?) have the new connector. Your SD card connector will not fit, though you can get an adapter or new sd connector.

I would have recommended against it. 4 days in one of my minis dropped the wi-fi connection and no matter what I did (and believe me I tried everything) it would not reconnect. I went to get a replacement mini and this one drops the wi-fi connection at least once or twice a day (although it seems to regain it on it's own after about 30 mins or so). I'll be taking this one back as well shortly. I have many other ipads and other wi-fi devices in the house with absolutely no issues - just the mini.

Strange. I had the same issue yesterday while in a hospital using my mini. It would drop out about every hour or so, but I figured it was their wifi connection having a "limited time" thing and that you simply just had to log in again on their wifi access page.

Actually, that's probably what it was. It never loses a signal when I'm tethering to it using my iPhone.

I think I was a bit put off by how you voiced things more than the actual content. But I'm glad you are happy with your purchase.

I just bought mine a couple days ago and couldn't be happier. :)
