To reinstall or to not reinstall?

With so many people indicating Kernel Panic in other threads and with my laptop currently shipping, I feel a bit confused about whether it is a good idea or not to reinstall Mac OS X from scratch when it arrives? 😕

I always do, not because of kernel panic... but just to get rid of things I don't need, like language translations and some printer drivers...

I had to install (not re-install) 10.4 when mine came. I think that's a must do.
