My main concern really is with the apple pencil and how well it will perform with a screen protector.

I've had a tempered glass protector on my 10.5" ever since I unwrapped it.

I know the debate will go on forever, but, I have seen no deterioration in display, sharpness, color, anti-glare or performance with the protector on.

I use my pencil quite often and the protector has no effect (positive or negative) on usage or writing.

My $0.02 is that there's nothing "bad" about having the protector on.

Which glass protector do you have? I picked up a 10.5 last night and need to order a screen protector. Thanks.

I wouldn’t dream of not having a screen protector on my iPad. I’ve had screen protectors since my original iPad on each of the 16 or so iPads I’ve had since then.

My original iPads had PowersupportUSA protectors professionally installed at their (now gone) store in Glendale.

I now have Best Buy install Zagg Invisibleshield Glass on each iPad I buy.

This is an old thread, but I remembered it from when I commented on it before. I have been using my 11" Pro for a year now with no screen protector because the new Pros just don't play nice with them on any of the ones I've tried so far.

I have been using my Apple Pencil 2 on this iPad Pro almost daily without a screen protector for notes, photo editing, drawing, etc., and my screen still looks perfect. We have a window at one side of our house that gets crazy amounts of sunlight in the afternoon, so sometimes I'll go to that window and use that good light to do a really good job of cleaning my screen off. Even in that light there is no damage to my screen from the Pencil that I've been able to find.

Interesting, I have had my 11” iPP for almost a year now as well, and this is the first iPad ever I actually put a matte screen protector on the iPad (PaperLike screen protector) - mainly for writing purposes. Like you, I use my iPP almost daily for note taking and much more.

For me, I opted for the screen protector because of the sound, the tapping sound was driving me a bit mad at times. The PaperLike has reduced that quite a bit, so was worth it for me. It does need the same amount of screen cleaning though :)

I never had a screen protector on any of my devices, prior to my iPad Pro and my iPhone X. I don’t know what it is, but they are much more prone to scratches than ever before, so both of the devices are protected.
