1) Favorite the Phone on my Apple Account
2) Set up ApplePay (or changed the default card if need be)
3) Set up my iPad and MacBook Air on the web browser, and iPhone on the App.
4) Refresh like crazy on web browser and constantly force quit App.
5) Get lucky!

I wasn't able to get on for 15 minutes after my GF and younger sister who were sitting right next to me. Luckily I was able to grab a launch day IUP device.

I got my order confirmation e-mail at 3:02am EST.

Before the site went down I made sure to have my credit card number and proper shipping address in my Apple store account. Then I added the iPhone I wanted in the configuration I wanted (7 Plus 128GB Black) to my favorites on the site. At 3:00am I was refreshing the app on my iPhone and iPad (force quitting and opening repeatedly) and refreshing the website on my MacBook. It came up on my iPhone first so I went to my account and my favorites, selected the phone, added it to my cart and checked out fast. I ended up using Apple Pay to save time but I did in store pickup which took a few extra seconds. When everything is going so slow I think having the phone in your favorites is the key to getting it.

You know what I do wrong? I wait till like one minute before preorders start before I try refreshing. I've learned my lesson next time start way earlier. :apple:

One minute before is fine, but you need a new session. Don't refresh.

If you're using the iOS app, this means force-quitting and re-launching. If you're using a browser, this means closing the entire browser and re-opening it.

I just kept force quitting the Apple Store app until it went through.

Yeah, the app typically works faster than the website. I had the app up and running within a minute of launch. The store was still giving me issues even 10-15 minutes afterwards.

I imagine if you have a good friend that works for companies that make software to help snipe (like eBay auctions or for tickets at the box office) that would help?
