Another vote for the 17" MBP
I like the bigger screen and I don't feel the portability suffers

I'm surprised no one's screamed 12" PowerBook yet.

I chose Macbook 13". I need my computers small and light. (an Air as my only computer wouldn't work)

I'd like a maxed-out matte 12" MacbookPro.

I chose none of the alternatives since they don't interest me. I need my computer to be small, powerful and have a matte screen. I connect a large display and keyboard/mouse when I'm at a the desk.

Personally, I feel the 13 inch MB gives the best of all worlds. It is still a nice enough machine that it will handle any thing I choose to do with it. And it is still small enough that I can port it around better than the larger models.

I carry mine everywhere I go. The 15 and 17 inch were simply not an option for me.

I totally agree with JBazz. While 15" is quite portable (I owned a late 2008 15" MBP, right before the unibody ones), I really love the size of the 13" much better. I have the higher end aluminum MB. It's only a pound and a few inches, but it makes a difference when you must constantly be on the go and portable. And 17" is IMHO too large for a laptop. For the price, one could buy a high end aluminum MB and LED Cinema Display all for less if they want.

And there's always the option of tricking out a mini and using two displays.

15" MacBook Pro seems to be the clear winner ...

A 15" MacBook Pro and 24" ACD could arguably be the 'best' set up for those who want to work from one powerful, portable computer, with a premium (acd) desktop option.

I'm not surprised, for the ultimate in portability and 'wow' factor then the rev B MBA with an ACD could be a contender too perhaps, and of course the 13" MacBook as well.

Personally I prefer a laptop over a desk top and since I have and love my mbp it has to be that. Plus with a laptop you can hook up externals to make it a desktop:)

The MBP 17" is pretty much my main computer, but also have iMac and PowerMac as server.

Be very hard to do only 1 computer.

I vote 15" macbook pro because a macbook would not cut it for me. I like to have a portable with me- msi wind hackintosh but I need something powerful for web-design, video editing and photoshop and the odd game. therefor the mbp 15" would be my purfect choice.

Mac Pro and here's why. It can be my workhorse when I don't need the portability of the netbook I am likely to get if I am only "allowed" one mac. ;)

Have to be my Mac Pro. Once you go Pro... there's no going back... every other computer is just an accessory.
Amen!

If you're just fooling around, then there's a lot of options. But if you depend on your Mac for your living (I'm in post-production), then anything less than a serious MacPro (I've been working on an 8x 3.2GHz with 10GB RAM/3TB disk) is like offering a professional trucker a mini-pickup.

13" MacBook
Would love to have the power of the 15" MBP in the 13" form factor, but given Apple's lineup, I'd rather have the portability than the additional capabilites. I travel a lot, and have found 13" to be the perfect tradeoff between size, weight and usability. I use a 13" Dell for work, and "downsized" form a 15" Powerbook to a 13" Macbook because of the size.

for me when I'm away from my dual 24" monitors at my desk i find the 13" real small of course ...

every I walk past a 15" MacBook Pro on display the screen gets my attention, I love the keyboard and when I pick it up it doesn't feel 'super' heavy, compared to my MBA sure, but so sit away from my dual monitors the 15" display seems so much bigger than the 13" ...

This was an old Poll pre- 13" MBP.

I wonder how the Poll results would be now that the new 13" MBP has been on the market for 5 months? Probably would take away from the 15" MBP voters?

I only have one mac and it's a 17" MBP. I voted for the 15" MBP cause the big one isn't that portable. Plus I have a separate LCD now and mainly use my laptop in closed lid mode. If the 13" was faster and had a discrete graphics card I would choose that.
