I think I may have discovered something. When I old my iPhone in the way that is supposed to cause signal discrepancies, nothing happens. However, when my father hold the phone the bars drop. So if you have an iPhone 4 can you please answer these questions:
Skin color: (not just "white" but I mean the tone)
Sweatiness of palms: Rate 1 to 10
    Height:
Roughness of skin: Rate 1 to 10
If you have someone else hold it does the issue still occur?
Thanks for the help, and with any luck we will come to find the common denominator of all the people who have this problem(if it is not the phone itself).

I'm a pore-less albino with no hands. Yet my phone still drops calls whenever I a get an erection.

My dad's skin is several tones darker than mine. I'm just trying to find any variable that might cause this.

I heard the CEO of AT&T got married recently. The service was great but the reception was terrible.

Skin color may not matter but skin type may not be too far off.

I remember about 3.5 years ago HP had some new type of trackpad on their laptops, for a lot of people the trackpad would not work (me included), but others could stick their fingers on the trackpad and go to town like nothing was wrong.

The dells we have at work have the same issue.

I don't think that color is so much the issue, but I put it there just in case we find something interesting with it.

Unless you and your dad are chemically and physically identical besides your skin composition, there is no was to isolate the variable that is actually causing this apparent difference in behavior.

Yes, the only question it is even possible to answer is height.

Is your dad circumscribed? That may play into it.

Skin color: White. Medium tone. More toward darker side if I had to say.
    Sweatiness of palms: 5.
    Height: 5'10
Roughness of skin: hate to admit, 7/10.

Haven't had anyone else hold it yet. (thats not what she said.)

I'm white, fair skin, not dark, not extremely pale.

Sweatyness of palms: Depends when, usually a 6-8. I have hyperhydrosis.

Hands are pretty soft, I'd say about a 3 for roughness

I have the problem, BUT I got a case for around $3 and it alleviates the problem for the most. AT&T always has sporadic service.

No, just too bizarre! I mean "roughness of skin"? What are you on?
