    Hi

Sorry if this has already been answered but I am new and have not seen an answer to this question.

Is it possible using Toast Titanium 11 to convert a DVD to an AVI file and if so how do I do it?

    Thanks in advance!

The real mystery question is why aren't AVI files dead yet? :D

so no toast from DVD to avi? any other options if hand break is not possible.

What I am looking for is the best format to give to my tech guy for some video we are putting onto an iTunes app - he said AVI but maybe you can suggest something better?

    Thanks again!

Use Handbrake, then convert the resulting file to avi with MPEGStreamclip.

Still not sure why AVI. Perhaps mp4 with h.264 would be better. Higher quality with higher compression, and Handbrake can do that.

Some Panasonic DVD/PVR machines will only accept .avi or DivX for playback from a USB stick. Might explain his/her requirements.
