Apple today announced that its free "Today at Apple" creative sessions are expanding to YouTube, as reported by CNET.

The first session on YouTube was uploaded today and explores how to draw yourself as a "Peanuts" character in the Pages app using an iPad and Apple Pencil with the help of Apple TV+ series "The Snoopy Show" storyboard artist Krista Porter and Apple retail employee Anthony. Apple plans to upload additional sessions to YouTube over time.

"Today at Apple" sessions were initially hosted exclusively at Apple Stores, although they started to be offered online during the pandemic. New sessions being uploaded to YouTube will further expand the free creativity program to a larger audience, allowing anyone to learn how to create art, music, and more using Apple hardware and software.

In addition to YouTube, some "Today at Apple" videos are available on Apple's website.

My Dad was taught cartooning by Charles Schulz in Minneapolis when Peanuts just starting syndication in 1950. My Dad would have liked to have seen this. I am deeply bragging when I say that I have 4 original Peanuts strips hanging proudly on my wall and 1 original drawing of Snoopy signed to me and my brother.

I don't think it's just me, but Apple's office suite seems to be an orphaned child at Cuppertino. Nobody I know uses it, most still use MS Office (I use LibreOffice myself).

It’s all about the file formats and network effect. I use MS Office because I can’t share Pages and Numbers files with 99.999% of the worlds computer users.

I can export and import xlsx and docx files but that’s too much friction and the process introduces changes I t the documents. I would use Pages and Numbers if they permitted me to work directly in xlsx and docx files.

That was fun!

When they said if you don't have an iPad and Apple Pencil, don't worry . . . I was thinking, of course, you can just use paper and pencil . . . and then the suggestion of drawing by hand on an iPhone.

The creator of the Peanuts is probably rolling in his grave if he knew $pple revised his characters .
I seem to recall that he specifically asked that no one else draw his characters, ever. I believe that was stipulated in his syndication contract. It's truly sad that this is happening now.

Direct grandson of Charles Schulz here. I would really love to hear more!

He didn’t want any one else continuing the comic and drawing for the original cannon comic strip. Teams have been drawing his characters in video form since nearly the beginning, example: A Charlie Brown Christmas.

Just saying...that's AWESOME! And, as if you didn't already know this, your grandfather was a genius and he has had a wonderful effect on pop culture and billions of people (including me). I must have seen the TV holiday specials dozens (if not hundreds) of times, and my little sister had Snoopy Come Home on VHS back in the early 80s, and I could probably recite that entire movie from memory. I still get emotional when Snoopy actually comes home!

As much as I love Peanuts, anything that was released after the passing of Charles M. Schulz just isn't the same for me. Even the pen strokes are different - he had a very distinctive style, which is lacking from the newer stuff.

Others may have been drawing the strip to produce the TV cartoons, but they still looked like Mr. Schulz had drawn them. They were able to mimic his style in a way that none of the Apple stuff has.

Waiting for Apple to incorporate customized Peanut's style Memoji's. That would be awesome.

it would be a vast improvement over the current King of the Hill in 3D ones they got going now.

wonder why Chalk reminded her of schultz's use of Ink. they look nothing alike to me.
